NEW VAIL SKI LIFTS FOR 2007/2008 SEASON
Vail Resorts is replacing the Highline Lift, the 34 year old two-seater lift that took you up to Blue Ox and Roger's Run, with a new high-speed-quad lift. The new lift will carry you to the top in just over 6 minutes. Vail is also realigning the Sourdough Lift to go directly to the Two Elk Restaurant and making it a high-speed-quad lift. Now if the Northwoods Lift gets backed up, you can just ski down and take the new high speed Highline Lift and then ski Flapjack. Alternatively, take the newly aligned Sourdough lift to Two Elk for lunch or even head into the back bowls via Poppyfields. Seems like an excellent improvement to the Vail lift system.
The only thing that could have been better would have been for the new Highline Lift to go directly to Two Elk, with an option of getting off at the top at Highline/Flapjack ski runs.
I'm sure some will miss the old time pace of the original lift. For me, I'll just skip the line at Northwoods and just keep skiing via the new lift. WhooHa!
